Bucket List

I have a bucket list. It is not written down anywhere but in my head. Ever since I was a little girl I remember one thing that has been on it was to ride in a hot air balloon. I remember seeing and "chasing" them when we were little in the car and being fascinated by them. I have never seen one on the ground or up close so imagine my excitement when I heard on the radio on the way home from work the other day that the Midwest Hot Air Balloon Festival was 5 minutes from my house in 3 days!!! AHH!!
Admission was $15 and you get to see about 50 hot air balloons up close and personal, paratroopers jumping from planes, fair time food, festival type activities, HUGE kites flow by professionals, several hot air balloons take off with people going for rides, a Clay Walker concert (included in your admission price) and TETHERED HOT AIR BALLOON RIDES FOR $5!!

I know I am acting like a 4 year old girl but let me tell you what, Hot air balloon rides are about $200-$400/ person and I wouldn't go alone so It would cost us a minimum of $400 to go on a ride and Taylor is afraid of heights, it looked like my dream was quickly going to stay just that. A dream. But no...not thanks to the midwest hot air balloon festival. They had 2 hot air balloons, tethered to the ground by large ropes and for $5 you could wait in line with a million people to take a 10 minute ride in the balloon basket up to a staggering height of oh about 25 feet off the ground. SIGN ME UP PLAYERS!

So I dragged my mom, stepdad and husband out to this fun fest at the great mall, or as my husband calls it "the great waste of space", with about half of Olathe and some of KC's finest population and made them stand in line for 2 HOURS to ride in the balloon for 10 minutes. and was it worth it?
ABSOLUTELY YES!! The rest can only be described in pictures. Enjoy!
