You get the idea. I'm just gonna say I am rockin' the rudolf the red nose reindeer scrub top tonight and had my twinkling christmas light necklace on earlier as well. Christmas season is upon us ya'll and I am PUMPED UP!!! I can't wait to put glitter on EVERYTHING and run through the halls singing christmas songs and skipping joyfully. This is another post....back to my original subject matter.
With Christmas comes alot of things to do, shopping, decorating, holiday parties, secret santa at work, being my festive self....oh yeah and buying and moving into a new house! Holy crappola. That last one is a doozy. We are almost all packed, I had this fabulous system in which, I had a list (like everything else in my life) and each box had a number, the room it was assigned to go to and a brief description of the contents. The goal was to be able to say oh where is my hairspray and say "Oh in box #16 with the rest of your hair stuff, in the master bathroom....with the revolver and Mr. white." Whoops got carried away again. But really it was like a clue to help me find things. My inner OCD self is screaming out in pain watching perfectly folded spare guest sheets be thrown into a trashbag with all our blankets and extra towels. Everything had a place, yes mother, even if the place was in a certain segment of the bedroom floor. My chaos is organized people, deal with that in your hearts ok. Anyshways, Everything HAD a place, now that place is all wrecked. Our apartment looks like a bomb went off inside, everything is just thrown into boxes, bags ect and in piles all over the place. You can bearly walk. It's embarassing. Embarrassing how much stuff we have, stuff we don't need. And all that stuff is going to goodwill to be donated. But the rest of it. It's rediculous. I have a whole box of CD's. I can't even tell you the last time I listened to a CD outside of in my car. I need to put them all onto a hard drive and donate those suckers too. It's just overwhelming.
I did get an extension on our move out day from our apartment complex. Originally it was set to be thursday the 29th, the same day we close. Which isn't going to happen. I am organized and prepared for everything, always but this is throwin my world upside down. I can't have a U-haul loaded with everything we own wednesday night and close the next morning and have the apartment spotless all in 24 hours. It just isn't going to happen. Thus I came up with a different plan....
- I had to work monday and tuesday nights, which means my poor husband is at home getting ready ALONE. Scary for me and for him.
- He took me to work, and is picking me up wednesday morning so we can go in one car to U-haul and get our 26' "easy-ride, easy-load truck".
- I will follow him in the car to my grandmother's house, where my mother and stepdad will be waiting "with bells on" as she says, to load all of our furniture we have been storing in her garage into the truck.
- Then we will be taking a 20 minute journey to Olathe and pack the rest of the big things into the truck at our apartment with the help of my parents again. This is gonna go down until noon when Taylor has to go to work.
- Then I will TRY to sleep from 12-5 or so and get up and get the rest of the apartment ready to be packed before Taylor gets home at 6pm. We have little elves coming to help this shift, Taylor's mom, my friend Kylie and Taylor's friend Will and my stepdad. The U-haul should be completely loaded and the apartment empty.
- We will be taking the truck back to Taylor's work and locking it behind the shop to keep all belongings safe.
- Then we'll be staying the night at Taylor's parents house.
- Get up bright and shiny and go close on the house and write the biggest check of my life.
- When "the eagle has landed" and the builder hears the check is on it's way, the builder will change the locks and give us the keys and we move in!!!
- Thursday we have a crew of helpers taking different shifts, my parents and taylor and I will be moving in on thursday morning until about 2pm. Taylor and I will be alone until about 5 or 6 then we have my friend Sarah and Kylie coming and Taylor's parents too. We just need to get everything into the house. I can move things around and organize and unpack the entire next week as I have taken off a full 10 days from both jobs, crazy I know.
Wish us luck, I will post pictures soon!!
