I grew up with real trees for a short time at my dad's house, until my stepmom and sister realized they were allergic. My mom never had a real tree and my grandmother always had one. I never really had a preference. I love the smell and of course the memory making experience of going to pick out and cut a tree ourselves but have always seen the ease and financial benefits of having a the same fake tree, year after year. Taylor on the other hand grew up with real trees and absolutely will not have a fake tree. With all the craziness of moving 3 weeks before Christmas this year, we debated not even getting a tree, but I couldn't let that fly. So we decided to save time and money, we would get a tree from Lowe's since we had to make a stop there anyway. Taylor couldn't bare to pick a tree out from a hardware store parking lot so the next weekend we went to the tree farm. We tried out a new one this year. A girl at work has a family tree farm in basehor, KS so we went there. There was free hot chocolate and coffee and you go out and pick your tree and put a stake by it and the guys go out on a four wheeler and cut it down and bring it back for you. Last year, we cut our own and it was much more fun I think. But oh well, Here are the pics :)
on the hunt
We thought we found it, nope.
There it is!

He loves him a real tree :)
Since we got our tree so late this year, everything is pretty picked over, so we picked one that had just been cut. It was a beaut clark!
