Child Like Mentality

I think one of the things I am most excited about having my own children is to be able to do fun things with them. Things that light up their faces. Things that my parents did with me as a kid that made childhood so special. I think there is alot of power in tradition and I'm excited to be able to carry traditions on with my kids but also what fun new things I can think up for them. I remember going to crown center every christmas to see Santa and ice skate and shop, the way the christmas music filled the air and the strong scent of fresh made chocolate fudge made me literaly drool. It brings back such happy memories for me. Another one of those favorite memories was going to the zoo. I love animals and so does my sister and we used to beg our mom to go to the zoo.

 Just like old times, Erika was home this week on spring break and we decided to go to the zoo since we had an entire saturday together with just her and me and my mom.

We had a blast. The zoo looks hugely different than I remember it. The Africa part is the same and we didn't go to Australia but we did do all of America and that looked very diferent to me. At the front they have a Polar Bear exibit and river otters

The Polar Bear was amazing, He made these circles around his big rock in his pool and was so playful. I think that is what draws the crowds. Who doesn't love and fun playful spirit?

The sea lions are up by the front entrance as well. I remember the water being so disgustingly dirty that you couldn't even see the sea lions. Today you could!!

I used to love the train too! We should have gone on it but we were too excited to see the animals. I used to have a small obsession with trains when I was a little girl. This picture is near and dear to my heart.

I was playing with my camera so much I had to keep hurrying to keep up with these two.

We are making a mean face like the razorback I think.  I spent most of my day like this.

Part of a child like mentality is having the ability to have fun even as an adult. To make goofy faces even when people are looking.
