First project....
Fall decor....
I'll start by saying, we bought new couches!! Hurrah!! We decided that while we are saving for a house we will also kill two birds with one stone and start buying peices of furniture as we find them so we don't have to furnish our new house the second we decide to buy it. We got our washer/dryer last christmas and our bed. We bought a new long dresser for our office for super cheap- $100!
and an entertainment center last fall, and now we bought living room furniture. We were using my $45 garage sale couch (with a slipcover) from college that Taylor hated. So we upgraded to these puppies!!
They didn't fit at first. We had to do some rearranging but I actually like it better.
From the hallway
Here is my spring decor on our entry way table.
Transformed to fall. I even changed my scentsy warmer from the brown one with a clean linen scent to the pumpkin with a caramel pear crisp smell. mmmm.
Onto more fall decor, Got the "S" for $1.00 at slobby lobby and made some burlap flowers that I hot glued to it after painting it with metallic bronze and gold paint. Ta Da!
Here is our sofa table, decorated for fall. Remember the paper mache skull for later. I made that burlap runner from extra burlap from our wedding reception.
Here is our dining room. My mom got us that latern for a wedding gift. Obsessed!!
The entertainment center with Halloween decor.
Wooden bowl my mom got for us for our wedding shower and a centerpiece from our reception.
The wee little mice I found at michael's for Halloween.
Another little cluster of cuteness on our bar.
Next I did some crafting. Behold... What starts as a plastic cauldron. Sorry just looked this one up online.
Gets a mixture of sand, oatmeal, water and elmer's glue put on it, let dry for a few days and then sprayed with black plastic lacquer to seal it onto the cauldron. And ends up looking something like this..... This is the pinterest inspiration, I haven't taken a pic of mine yet.
Next project...Remember those skulls that I told you to hold in your brain, take them, cover with a mod podge and super fine glitter mix and here you go, shabby chic halloween.
And I bought a cheap-o birdcage from an antique store for $7 and spray painted it black and filled it with crows and an owl for a creepy halloween peice
I will leave you with this thought and final picture for fall decor post.
Happy Fall!!
