KKKKKK SSSSSS UUUUUUU WILDCATS!!!!

One of my best girls Kylie had her birthday September 1st. She and her family were all going to the KSU game in Manhattan, KS to tailgate and go to the game to celebrate. Since all of my college girlfriends are K-State girls at heart we all took the opportunity to go celebrate with her AS A SURPRISE!!! Taylor got off work early and we drove out there.... Before we get to that... I will start us off with another craft.
I decided out of the clear blue that I NEEDED KSU shoes. So of course, I did the Lauren Jean Smith thing to do and made my own.

Let us start. I bought a pair of plain white canvas converse all stars at Target about a year ago for $10 when they were clearing out our local store to remodel. I don't pass up a good sale thankfully. So since I have a few other pairs of white shoes, I decided these were the puuurfect victim for my wildcat obsession. ( Pun intended, annoying I know). I went and got some KSU wildcat embroidered patches from Kansas Sampler but had the rest of the supplies handy (duh! I am a craft expert).
Gather items, patches, paint, glitter, mod podge and an Iron. Take the laces out of your shoes. Paint your shoes your color you want, for me...purple. Make sure to get all of the tongue that will be seen under your laces. Let dry (I use acrylic paint for everything, that means its a plastic base. It also means it drys fast and is permanent on cloth, and most other things. It's as cheap as $.56/bottle.)

Then if you are super impatient like me, you paint glitter immediately after paint, you'll have the first shoe almost dry by the time you finish the second, it's fine I promise. Mix on a paper plate, for easy clean up, a big glob of mod podge (I use the super high gloss kind) and a ton of your glitter of choice. (Martha Stewart ultra fine craft glitter is the best). and paint onto your shoes.
Let this completely dry, mod podge is thick and sticky and needs time. I let um dry at least a day. Place your patch where you want it, most of the time these are iron on. Get your iron nice and hot and iron that puppy onto the OUTSIDE of the shoe so everyone can see. I thought the patch looked kinda weird on top with no border so I outlined mine in silver puffy paint. and let dry again. TA-DA! you will be the best fan there is!!
I wore them to the game, they were a huge hit and all my friends laughed because "they should have known" I would make something like this. My mother in law is having me make her some bright orange Oklahoma State University ones for the games they go to. They have season tickets....anyway. Now to the fun stuff.
I was sooooo excited to get here, the drive took FOOOORRRREEVVVVERRR!

Kylie naturally about peed her pants.

And Audra did pushups, with Kylie on her back for the touch downs.

 Such a fun day.
I love my girls soooo much!!!!

Thanks for an amazing game lovers!!
