Summer Vacay 2013 -Part 1

Wednesday I took Cora to the vet to be boarded for the week while we were gone. We trust them and she got to have her own dog run and it was cheaper than alot of other places. This is the first time we have both been gone from Cora since we rescued her and I had been really really nervous about it. Taylor had to work so I got some stuff done and took Cora. She just thought it was another time in the car and was nervous like usual, drooling and such, but me.... I cried the whole way there and part of the way home. I didn't want her to think that we were taking her back to the shelter and leaving her there. I was a hot mess. Which is so stupid looking back on it but I was worried she would be really mad at us when we got back or be sad when she was there and not eat....She did fine.

Poor girl didn't know I was about to leave her.

After that I went to spray tan before our trip but apparently I had a horrible reaction to it. I had a full body rash for about 48 hours. Fantastic.

We left on thur morning at 5am! Yikes.
This is the sunrise as we are leaving town.

The ARCH!!!

At the base

Our tickets to the top

The door to our tram to the top

They called it a tram but it was a large bubble elevator with 5 tiny seats in it. We rode to the top with 2 very large and very scared people. I really thought the woman was going to throw up on the way to the top.

The Cardinals  Busch Stadium

The Mississippi River, flooded

Taylor standing next to the mighty mississip! It was so flooded it was over the last few steps but it was so dirty you couldn't see the next step down. SICK

A tent that flooded

On our way across the country....Toward Kentucky!

I am the Y

We kept moving toward Tennessee. We were spending the night in Nashville and a million people told us that we needed to go to The Loveless Cafe for dinner. We wanted real southern food. And southern food we got! We asked the waitress what was good to eat, she suggested country fried steak and their fried chicken so that is what we got and we shared that and fried okra and mashed potatoes with gravy and collard greens. The food was incredible, especially their homemade biscuits. HEAVEN!!

We stayed the night and then got up really early to start heading to florida!!! Junk food in hand we were ready for road trip day #2!
